​Journey to the Middle East is our one-hour interactive show of belly dance, live drumming, music, and culture of the Middle East tailored especially for seniors.
​
We bring the thrill of the cabaret and couple it with mini-lessons in language, rhythm, and movement. With a focus on fun and inclusion, we seamlessly accommodate a range of cognitive and physical abilities.

What We'll Be Doing
​​
We open Journey to the Middle East with a traditional procession on Tabla Beledi (drum) and Zils (drum and finger cymbals) that brings smiles to even the most quiet. We teach the residents a few Arabic or Turkish words, get them clapping to the drum, and chanting the rhythm, then give a respite to the activities with a classic belly dance performance. For the adventurous, we offer a little belly dance lesson! We finish the show with our signature drum solo belly dance followed by time Q & A time for the residents.
